This coffee table begins its journey as a complete amethyst geode — a hollow rock lined with thousands of individual crystal points that formed over millions of years deep within volcanic basalt. The geode is carefully split to reveal the crystal cathedral within, then mounted on a hand-forged brass butterfly base that cradles the stone as if it were floating.

The Brass Base

Each base is individually forged by our metalwork artisans to match the unique contours of the geode it supports. The brass is finished with a light patina that complements the warm purple of the amethyst. Over time, the brass will develop a deeper patina, adding character and warmth to the piece.

Living With This Piece

A tempered glass top sits above the crystal cavity, creating a functional surface while keeping the geode interior visible and protected. The glass can be removed for cleaning or to allow guests to touch the crystal points — an experience that never fails to delight.
